10 tips for studying online

Studying online today is a reality. Searching for courses to improve the curriculum and entering the job market brings multiple people of different ages back to study, and for those who need something flexible, especially over time, online courses are a big draw.

But not everyone is used to doing their own study. Accustomed in the basic school to follow a methodology already created by the coordinators, many feel difficulties in relation to individual study and mainly online, generally without the presence of someone who makes the charges.

We present several tips that will help you make better use of time, learn and apply the knowledge acquired.

  1. Internet connection

Well, I don’t think you need to talk much about this advice, having a bad connection will make your studies difficult, so first check the necessary requirements to start the course, such as computer, internet connection, etc.

  1. Study place

Choose a quiet place to start your studies, airy. Where there can be no distractions. Preferably places with little agitation.

  1. Schedule

Here it varies from person to person, because the best time is when it is most productive, so check what time it will yield more. Take tests.

  1. Material

Try to separate the material beforehand, pencil, pen, note paper, brochures, USB stick. In some courses, you may need to use a headset to check all of this beforehand so you don’t have to interrupt your study schedule with unplanned stops.

  1. Distractions on the Internet

Keep in mind that the Internet is not good or bad in itself, it will be up to you to determine. When it comes to studying, many sin because they are constantly distracted. To study online, we must be connected, but pay close attention to social media.

  1. Habit and persistence

It is a fact that in a distance course (online) the evasion is enormous. Normally we are educated to go to school, to go to the course, when we are in the virtual study there are no charges for absences and many students get lost at this stage.

Well, you must make a habit of studying, doing your program. Many courses, before the start, already offer a program to follow. Example: Study one hour a day Monday through Friday or three times a week for two to three hours a day.

Make your schedule and try to stick to it, but don’t give up, for example if you can’t stick to it for a few days. The study doubled in the coming days.

  1. Developing your knowledge

It is up to you and only you to thirst for more knowledge, to want to learn more. The bibliography generally provided in an online course is too large. There are many indicated research sources, so don’t limit yourself to the basics, look for more.

  1. Perform all tasks, activities, jobs

Try to develop as much as possible the activities and exercises proposed in the course. Practice a lot to improve your performance. Test all the knowledge acquired. If there are tasks to do in an online course, it is because they were not placed by chance, they serve to reinforce learning, as well as for your own evaluation.

  1. Participation

In most of the available courses there are discussion forums to answer questions, so try to interact, since you will find people from other places and this will enrich your learning, observing other ways of thinking. Try to clarify your doubt whenever it exists. Make the most of it!

  1. Check your learning

There is no point in spending hours and hours in front of the computer without knowing if you have learned or not. Always try to check your progress in learning. You need to progress, otherwise you will be wasting time. This is why item 8 on that list is so important.

Review, redo what is necessary to learn the content. Try to test in practice, if possible, what you have developed in theory.
